This is Aimiloo's Nana's ever famous simple recipe. Friends and family love it, and you can add whatever you like - it's the perfect base.

Prep Time 15 minutes
Cook Time 45 minutes
Total Time 1 hour

Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef (lean ground beef, 455g)
  • 1⁄2 cup milk
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (or rolled oats)
  • 1 egg
  • 1⁄2 onion (large)
  • 1 italian herbs (to taste)
  • 1 ketchup

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180C/350F.
  2. Combine all ingredients in a bowl except the ketchup. Knead all ingredients with your hands for a good 3-4 min. until fully mixed.
  3. Form a log-like sculpture in a baking dish.
  4. Cover log with foil and bake for 45 min. Uncover for last 10 min and brush ketchup over the top.
  5. Cooking time may vary-it was 180C (350F) in a fan oven for me.

Notes

You can add peppers and other things if you feel like it.
